Any particular reason to backport? I don’t like to do it with such significant changes. At least let’s let this sit on unstable for a month or so before backporting to releases.

Well, it's needed for reliable boot on one of those larger AWS instances.

Ok nevermind then. I didn’t realize it was breaking booting.
