Motivation for this change
  • explain how to connect to wifi with WPA. I clearly missed it when installing nixos on my laptop without Ethernet.
  • Make it clearer in the doc that programs.zsh.shellAliases overrides the default environment.shellAliases.

Extracted from #29944 since the kernel doc will take lots of time to complete.

Things done
  • Tested using sandboxing (nix.useSandbox on NixOS, or option build-use-sandbox in nix.conf on non-NixOS)
  • Built on platform(s)
    • NixOS
    • macOS
    • other Linux distributions
  • Tested via one or more NixOS test(s) if existing and applicable for the change (look inside nixos/tests)
  • Tested compilation of all pkgs that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nox --run "nox-review wip"
  • Tested execution of all binary files (usually in ./result/bin/)
  • Fits CONTRIBUTING.md.

New thin laptops don't have an ethernet port and so rely on wifi to get
access. With the minimal installer, setup wpa_supplicant can be hard if
it is the first time so here we provide an example.
