Is this really a security release? I see no indicators for that on neither the security page nor the release notes. Or is this Adobe doing security updates under the radar? |

I wouldn't be surprised by a silent vulnerability patch.
I would be really really surprised by an update changing something
that is _not_ a vulnerability. OK, maybe a deadlock under realistic
conditions.

Well, it was not a vulnerability with a known exploit. But anyway it is worse than a deadlock.
The most likely reason of the crash is a memory corruption, and it is not too unlikely that the same memory corruption can be made exploitable with enough effort. In similar situations with a crash in Gecko Mozilla usually publically says «probably it is an arbitrary remote code execution» but never investigates exploitability on its own.
I think it is actually nice of Adobe to provide the bug description that allows those who waited for the bugfix to notice. But I would expect the description to be an identification of the relevant bug reports, not of the full impact.
