Drop currently unsupported releases. Add Fedora 26 and 27. Update CentOS. Add Debian 9. Add Ubuntu 17.10.

patch some gcc7 issues with inline functions
This disables annoying error messages that the go cache in /homeless-shelter cannot be created.

Since they are more stable, their use should be encouraged over that of potentially volatile identifiers like /dev/[sh]da.
Plugins loading was broken as those patches were removed in latest release. I brought patches back and updated them onto 2.38 release code base. This closes NixOS#35446.

The version of VTE that uses GTK2 is not maintained, so using lxterminal with GTK2 means dealing with a lot of bugs that have already been fixed in newer VTE versions. I actually meant to set up lxterminal to use GTK3 in the first place, but didn't realize that wasn't the default until now.
