I don't understand how this can build successfully given that the tag on upstream GH repo actually is sdk-1.1.85.0 (with dot zero at the end) and this is fetching sdk-1.1.85 ...

fetchgit fetches the first tag that matches the given rev or something? That would be wrong and dangerous.

It appears to be fetching the 1.1.85 branch, which is bad because that's not a specific commit.

@c0bw3b Looks like a few distros use the branch version https://repology.org/metapackage/vulkan-tools/versions I'll report the problem to Repology.
