I am also getting similar type of error while cross compiling

checking for SPNEGO support in GSSAPI libraries... configure: error: in
configure: error: cannot run test program while cross compiling
See `config.log' for more details

configure --host=x86_64-unknown-freebsd9 --cache=config.cache --disable-ntlm --disable-otp --disable-sample --enable-gssapi --with-des=no --with-gss-impl=mit

Even i applied the changes of m4 file as specified by @eburimu

The machine details
build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
host system type... x86_64-unknown-freebsd9
