Greetings team,

After pairing dory to One Plus 5 (android 9.0.5) the watch is spammed with pairing requests with PIN mostly when trying to reconnect (after disconnection) or sometimes when being shown as connected (on watch, but disconnected on the phone app).

Expected behaviour is for the watch to re-connect without asking for pairing each time.

Let me know if you would be needing logs.

Hi, sorry for the issue. We are aware of this issue and it should be with the software on dory, not the Android app.
Are you using the nightlies or the stable 1.0 release of AsteroidOS?

Earlier today we merged a workaround for issues with the bt stack on dory. This should be included in the next nightly.

Hi, needn't be sorry & thanks for clarifying.

I will switch to nightly and comment on this issue after testing the next release.

Hi, I'm on 12th May nightly build. The re-pairing when connected is not happening anymore but when the watch is disconnected from the phone, repairing happens when connected again where as it should just connect.

Is there a place where I can see the change logs for nightly and also get notified when a nightly is released?

There are no changelogs because nightlies are built automatically. So the closest thing to a changelog is probably the git history.
In the IRC is a bot announcing new builds.

Thank you, I will check IRC. Would you be needing any logs for diagnosing the pairing issues?

Can you also let me know if the OPKG update method work for nightly?

I have dory and the same issue. I spent a lot of time debugging this issue already with not much of a progress. A big problem is that it's hard to locate the issue or narrow it down. The behavior is inconsistent between reboots. I logged pretty much everything, but the logs are not really pointing in any direction.

Can you also let me know if the OPKG update method work for nightly?

Sorry, no idea. @FlorentRevest can probably answer this.

17th June Nightly has fixed the frequent PIN requests issues for me, was there any fix?

Though still it doesn't auto connect after long disconnect, but does automatically connect after night time disconnect forced by Oxygen OS's 'Sleep Standby Optimisation' which puts all apps in doze mode during night.

24th June Nightly seems to work fine too. I don't see any changes in our repos that indicate a change. Maybe an upstream dependency got updated.

The OxygenOS thing is a common issue on OnePlus devices. There is nothing we can do. The app should be on the excluded app list on OS side after setup. However, it's up to OnePlus to accept the user decision to exclude apps from battery optimization.

@jrtberlin Is the pairing issue affecting only dory or other supported watched have issues with pairing as well?

I'm only aware of issues with dory.

I see, for such huge effort with asteroidOS the pairing issue seems like an Achilles heel.

Since July 2019 we had a few changes on the AsteroidOS side and recently a major change regarding Bluetooth in Sync.
This issue needs retesting to see if it is still a problem.
