Motivation for this change

https://dovecot.org/list/dovecot-news/2019-March/000401.html
fixes CVE-2019-7524

A propos release-18.09: Should we apply dovecot/core@578cf77 and dovecot/core@696320b as patches or upgrade from 2.3.4.1 to 2.3.5.1?

Things done
  • Tested using sandboxing (nix.useSandbox on NixOS, or option sandbox in nix.conf on non-NixOS)
  • Built on platform(s)
    • NixOS
    • macOS
    • other Linux distributions
  • Tested via one or more NixOS test(s) if existing and applicable for the change (look inside nixos/tests)
  • Tested compilation of all pkgs that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nix-review --run "nix-review wip"
  • Tested execution of all binary files (usually in ./result/bin/)
  • Determined the impact on package closure size (by running nix path-info -S before and after)
  • Assured whether relevant documentation is up to date
  • Fits CONTRIBUTING.md.

If it is possible to patch the newly discovered security issues with a reasonable amount of effort, then that would be preferable. If patching the issues is too hard, then a full update is fine, too.

The build failure on Darwin seems to be new: https://hydra.nixos.org/job/nixpkgs/trunk/dovecot.x86_64-darwin
