Motivation for this change
Things done

  • Built on platform(s)
    • NixOS
    • macOS
    • other Linux distributions
  • Tested via one or more NixOS test(s) if existing and applicable for the change (look inside nixos/tests)
  • Tested compilation of all pkgs that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nix-review --run "nix-review wip"
  • Tested execution of all binary files (usually in ./result/bin/)
  • Determined the impact on package closure size (by running nix path-info -S before and after)
  • Ensured that relevant documentation is up to date
  • Fits CONTRIBUTING.md.

cc @worldofpeace (I couldn't test building on linux.)

P.s.: Is there an easy way to get the correct hash for a different platform than the one you're on? I had to change the expression to specify the linux source in the darwin parts to get the hash.

@toonn The most simple way to do this is like

 nix eval -f . wire-desktop.src.urls --argstr "system" "x86_64-darwin"

 nix eval -f . wire-desktop.src.urls --argstr "system" "x86_64-linux"

(be sure to change the versions in the expression.)

and use nix-prefetch-url on the urls for the hashes.
