Instructions to test this update (click to expand)

Either download from Cachix:

nix-store -r /nix/store/z060npi04gyasv23f4v12p2vvcx9dzcf-libosmocore-1.0.1 \
  --option binary-caches 'https://cache.nixos.org/ https://r-ryantm.cachix.org/' \
  --option trusted-public-keys '
  r-ryantm.cachix.org-1:gkUbLkouDAyvBdpBX0JOdIiD2/DP1ldF3Z3Y6Gqcc4c=
  cache.nixos.org-1:6NCHdD59X431o0gWypbMrAURkbJ16ZPMQFGspcDShjY=
  '

(r-ryantm's Cachix cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)

Or, build yourself:

nix-build -A libosmocore https://github.com/r-ryantm/nixpkgs/archive/d652f619162acb37b604b2ba6a61503058fe53a2.tar.gz

After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:

ls -la /nix/store/z060npi04gyasv23f4v12p2vvcx9dzcf-libosmocore-1.0.1
ls -la /nix/store/z060npi04gyasv23f4v12p2vvcx9dzcf-libosmocore-1.0.1/bin

cc @mogorman for testing.

Hi, can you please have a look at https://osmocom.org/issues/3722 and see if the MacOS build issue is indeed fixed for you when using libosmocore 1.0.1?

@pspin thanks for the tip.
It looks like there is problem with the build system:

Ugh, this issue I've never seen:
./git-version-gen: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable

There's something in libosmocore.git/git-version-gen that MacOS doesn't like. Since I never saw that kind of fork error on linux, I cannot say what usually causes that on MacOS. Maybe some binary being used not available? some system resource limit reached?

You could try adding "set -x" at the start of the script to log what the script runs, to have a better idea on where it fails. Perhaps running ./git-version-gen .tarball-version before running ./configure to get the output correctly.

Hi @markuskowa can you confirm issues with libosmocore are gone and thus we can close https://osmocom.org/issues/3722 ?

@pespin We were trying to investigate the problem here #57038 but is seems to still exist.
