    • macOS
    • other Linux distributions
  • Tested via one or more NixOS test(s) if existing and applicable for the change (look inside nixos/tests)
  • Tested compilation of all pkgs that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nox --run "nox-review wip"

Upstream fixes:

  - Unregister socket as soon as we know that no rule matches.

I also removed the encode_rules() function which was an artifact left in
version 2.0.0.

Built and tested on i686-linux and x86_64-linux.

Whenever we create scripts that are installed to $out, we must use runtimeShell
in order to get the shell that can be executed on the machine we create the
package for. This is relevant for cross-compiling. The only use case for
stdenv.shell are scripts that are executed as part of the build system.
Usages in checkPhase are borderline however to decrease the likelyhood
of people copying the wrong examples, I decided to use runtimeShell as well.
