Motivation for this change

I needed this package, and it's fairly old at this point and has received no updates since 2010, so hopefully no updates are needed until GCC/Qt upgrades break things further.

• Tested using sandboxing (nix.useSandbox on NixOS, or option sandbox in nix.conf on non-NixOS)

• Tested compilation of all pkgs that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nox --run "nox-review wip"

• Determined the impact on package closure size (by running nix path-info -S before and after)
• Fits CONTRIBUTING.md.
