Either download from Cachix:

nix-store -r /nix/store/4qbccr3d8j3f8v3xmhrbhsvcjq2da3bq-libgdata-0.17.12 \
  --option binary-caches 'https://cache.nixos.org/ https://r-ryantm.cachix.org/' \
  --option trusted-public-keys '
  r-ryantm.cachix.org-1:gkUbLkouDAyvBdpBX0JOdIiD2/DP1ldF3Z3Y6Gqcc4c=
  cache.nixos.org-1:6NCHdD59X431o0gWypbMrAURkbJ16ZPMQFGspcDShjY=
  '

(r-ryantm's Cachix cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)
For the Cachix download to work, your user must be in the trusted-users list or you can use sudo since root is effectively trusted.

Or, build yourself:

nix-build -A libgdata https://github.com/r-ryantm/nixpkgs/archive/b001273b59f9bf6156f27ff09b63d9bb5a189091.tar.gz

After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:

ls -la /nix/store/4qbccr3d8j3f8v3xmhrbhsvcjq2da3bq-libgdata-0.17.12
ls -la /nix/store/4qbccr3d8j3f8v3xmhrbhsvcjq2da3bq-libgdata-0.17.12/bin

Looks like liboauth is optional now and support requires a flag

Right, looking at their reasoning, https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libgdata/issues/1, it seems like the liboauth is mostly unused and deprecated (gnome-online-accounts have its own Oauth2 support). I suggest we disable it. (the other changes looks trivial: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libgdata/-/commit/6fd85102e7dcf7414000264a263465ba5cb894e4).
