Brief explanation

Provide an issue tracker for overall improvements on the FPGA/ASIC flow with a possibility for the community to vote for issues and potentially offer monetary rewards for implementation/fixes.

Expected results

  • Make it easier for newcomers to see where the community currently values contributions most
  • Provide a way for the community to finance freelance work to improve parts that may otherwise have trouble to get people contributing, or for projects that are more full-time demanding.

Detailed Explanation

While this ideas repository is nice, it does not allow for effective at-a-glance viewing of issues and projects that need to be improved. Some ideas have PRs and issues cross-linked in them, which is good, and maybe that needs to be the case for an effective tracker - but they are not always project / bounty sized.

One way I visualize this is like how github does issues per project, but also being able to vote on issues and attach bounties.
Having a way to filter by affect software or type of project would probably also be needed, but that is likely doable with any form of tag system.
