This was used because the firmware in linux-firmware was outdated. It should not be after a year.

It's been two years since we pinned the qca6174 firmware, and it's now, at best, useless. I don't exercise this code path since I swapped my card with an intel one.
It's also been a while since nixos 20.03 released, so the workaround for nixpkgs before that should go as well.
