The test case asserts that frame.contentDocument is not null, by
assuming that the message arrives at the parent frame before the
child frame navigates out, which actually is not guaranteed. Remove
the assertion.

Hmm, I wonder if that should be guaranteed. Does contentDocument do sync IPC or some such in Chrome?

The child frame

  1. sends a broadcast message,
  2. waits 50 msec, and then
  3. navigates to the specified location.

The broadcast message can arrive after 3.

Does contentDocument do sync IPC or some such in Chrome?

We can test the nullness of contentDocument in a synchronous manner because contentDocument is not null only if the frame is in the same agent. But the problem here is the asynchronous nature of postMessage.
