Either download from Cachix:

nix-store -r /nix/store/0fzff556cl0bgcnjrs1jkf6b07zcrny0-gnome-usage-3.32.0 \
  --option binary-caches 'https://cache.nixos.org/ https://r-ryantm.cachix.org/' \
  --option trusted-public-keys '
  r-ryantm.cachix.org-1:gkUbLkouDAyvBdpBX0JOdIiD2/DP1ldF3Z3Y6Gqcc4c=
  cache.nixos.org-1:6NCHdD59X431o0gWypbMrAURkbJ16ZPMQFGspcDShjY=
  '

(r-ryantm's Cachix cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)
For the Cachix download to work, your user must be in the trusted-users list or you can use sudo since root is effectively trusted.

Or, build yourself:

nix-build -A gnome-usage https://github.com/r-ryantm/nixpkgs/archive/41e35e38afd3a779c452c444785e2737bc7a93a8.tar.gz

After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:

ls -la /nix/store/0fzff556cl0bgcnjrs1jkf6b07zcrny0-gnome-usage-3.32.0
ls -la /nix/store/0fzff556cl0bgcnjrs1jkf6b07zcrny0-gnome-usage-3.32.0/bin

Pre-merge build results

We have automatically built all packages that will get rebuilt due to
this change.

This gives evidence on whether the upgrade will break dependent packages.
Note sometimes packages show up as failed to build independent of the
change, simply because they are already broken on the target branch.

Result of nixpkgs-review 1

1 package built:
  • gnome-usage

Careful this is downgrading.

May I ask why we need to downgrade?

It probably downgraded because we are using unstable version (there were probably some issues with the stable one).

Let’s mark this as draft so that nobody merges this and the bot does not try to downgrade it again.

Looking at the r-ryantm logs, it looks like the issue is actually in the update script.

I believe the issue is the versionPolicy global is for stable versions but we need to make an exception for this package's updateScript = { ... versionPolicy = ...

Yeah, but we might not want to update to 3.37 though.

Current version in master is newer than this PR.
