This way we're building with a limited change set, compared to using a full-blown fork. In theory the chosen change set gives us the ability to use the Crust alternative firmware. * https://github.com/crust-firmware/
This is using the patchset from the previous 5.7 kernel, applied and lightly massaged to work with 5.8
Some of those are required for the NixOS firewall. This is more than strictly necessary. What was enabled is what was a module in the default NixOS config.

There is no test suite yet to run, this is something we probably should get going at some point. Though my cursory testing shows that to the limited use I did, this is working just as well as 5.7 and 5.5
