Motivation for this change
  1. Ensure syncthing continues to work in future NixOS releases.
  2. Provide a simple test demonstrating how to exercise syncthing in the NixOS test environment to use as a base for verifying more complex behaviours.
  3. Validate that syncthing as built in nix continues to work without connectivity to the public discovery and relay servers.

  • Tested using sandboxing (nix.useSandbox on NixOS, or option sandbox in nix.conf on non-NixOS linux)
  • Built on platform(s)
    • NixOS
    • macOS
    • other Linux distributions
  • Tested via one or more NixOS test(s) if existing and applicable for the change (look inside nixos/tests)
  • Ensured that relevant documentation is up to date
  • Fits CONTRIBUTING.md.
