The Rhizomatic Library (a Caves of Qud mod)

Description

The Rhizomatic Library is a periodically updated Caves of Qud mod which adds books, scrolls, parchments, and other readable oddities to the game world.

The books, for the time being, can be found in Joppa. Look for an odd bookshelf. They will eventually be moved to the Six Day Stilt.

Installation

Note: the texts can be read without Caves of Qud. Navigate to the "Plain text books" folder. The .md file should be readable in most browsers, or can be opened using a plain text or Markdown editor.

Download the folder called "The Rhizomatic Library", and add it to your Caves of Qud "\Mods" folder. The folder's location depends on your operating system and may need to be created if it doesn't already exist.

Windows: C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\LocalLow\Freehold Games\CavesOfQud\

Linux: /home/USERNAMEHERE/.config/unity3d/Freehold Games/CavesOfQud/

MacOS: Users/USERNAMEHERE/Library/Application Support/com.FreeholdGames.CavesOfQud/

USERNAMEHERE should be replaced by your user/account name.

License and other bothersome matters

Since this is my first public mod, and given that it primarily contains prose rather than lines of code, the mod is released under a Creative Commons license. In this case, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

Clearly put, commercial use is not allowed. Forking, remixing, editing, etc. is more than fine. This distinction seems crucial as I intend to open up the mod to contributors down the road, and want to ensure their fiction writing (as well as my own) is protected. I am 100% open to suggestions re: best license to use in this scenario, particularly from experienced modders. DMs open on Twitter.
