#powder irc channel rules

irc.libera.chat #powder rules:

  1. Use common sense. If it seems against the rules (trolling, spam, harassment, etc.), it probably is, even if not listed here.
  2. Do not flood or spam. Pasting more than 4 lines of text at once is considered spam (consider using pastebin).
  3. Do not post random quotes from other channels or websites unless it relates to the conversation. This can be seen as spam since nobody understands the context.
  4. Please use legible English. Purposefully bad grammar and incorrect spelling are highly annoying and will get you quickly banned.
  5. Do not use discriminatory language. Racism, bigotry, and hate speech are all grounds for a ban.
  6. Do not highlight random people for no reason, or mass highlight the entire channel.
  7. #powder's only bots are PowderBot and Crackbot, other bots are not allowed here and will be instantly banned. Bots can be brought to #powder-bots instead. Do not use scripts without approval either, if you don't disable them you may be banned from the channel until you do.
  8. Do not abuse or spam PowderBot. Using the bot for excessive spam is against the rules and you will be given a channel ignore from the bot. Use the bot in PM instead, /query PowderBot.
  9. Do not abuse caps lock or formatting characters (colors, bold, underlines, right-to-left overrides, bagels).
  10. Do not post links to anything of illegal nature. Shock / screamer sites are also banned.
  11. Do not post links to NSFW content or have explicit sexual discussions. Excessive NSFW content is bannable
  12. Do not complain about bans in channel. If you need to resolve a ban, try querying the mod that placed it. Bans usually have expiration times but if you query the mod that placed it you might be able to get it removed quicker. If you complain and argue constantly over a ban in other channels, you might find yourself banned in those channels too.
  13. Be nice to newbies. Don't demand info like age, location (geoip), or tpt account; and don't troll or trick them into doing things.
  14. Don't publicly log #powder or relay it to other channels without permission. People don't expect what they are saying to be relayed to people they can't see in other channels.
  15. Do not rapidly change nicks. Don't use nicks that encourage spam or trolling either.
  16. Do not impersonate other users (from IRC or the forums). Do not register other users' nicknames either.
  17. We do not condone trolling or breaking rules in other channels, so don't talk about it in #powder.

If you do any of these things you are at high risk of being banned. Repeated behavior (especially after getting off one ban) will earn you longer times. Annoying moderators and breaking rules while in direct conversation with them will probably get you noticed more often. Breaking rules while no moderators are around does not excuse you, many have a constant connection and will read your messages when they get back on later. Be on your best behavior at all times.
