I think the details need increased denotation.
In the example below I razed the contrast and added an overlay gradient.

A gradient may be good but i find this is too extreme to look stonelike.

Good idea @paramat! I think that the header image was too flat and grey.

I could perhaps redo my image to be shinier, stronger bevel shading.
The suggestion here will be lost and forgotten unless it is opened as an issue.
