#tulpa rules

#tulpa rules

  • Speak in English.

    • We cannot understand languages other than English very well. Please use English so it is easier to understand. Poor English is better than no English!
  • Be civil.

    • If you get into an argument, make sure to try to stay as reasonable as you can. Don't make it a contest of who is morally correct. Getting really angry at others and harassing them can lead to a ban or quiet, depending on what the moderation and administration considers appropriate.
  • Any topic not expressively forbidden by the rules is allowed, but be constructive, and open-minded.

    • Don't expect people to believe you if you make an outrageous claim unless you have enough evidence or significant logic to back it.
    • Conversely, respect other people's opinions. Don't instantly flame somebody for having a different opinion from you. If what they're saying is factually incorrect - try to show them so in a mature and civilized manner.
  • No lewd or NSFW chatter.

    • This means no in-depth discussion of topics of a sexual or explicit nature (drug discussion is allowed, as long as it's not advertised or encouraged)
  • No drama.

    • Drama is arguing over private matters or sensitive personal topics without any further value to them beyond emotional venting or attention seeking. (this falls under trolling, and is up to a mod to decide whether it's trolling or not. Please try to solve personal issues in a private conversation.)
  • Don't try to exploit the rules.

    • If you want to say a rule is being enforced unreasonably, take it up with the mod doing so in a private conversation, or if that doesn't work, tell a member of network staff in #help or email staff@tulpa.im for more help.
  • Don't be disruptive.

    • Having a long nickname can be disruptive to some people. If you are actively in the channel, please try to keep your nickname less than 21 characters long.

    • Don't use a disruptive nickname. If a moderator asks you to change your nickname, please comply.

  • Please comply with all direct instructions from moderators.

  • Do not harass others in #tulpa

    • No racist language. This rule may or may not be enforced by services.
    • If you feel that someone is being unnecessarily offensive, feel free to ping any of the mods
  • Do not exchange links to websites that distribute things illegally.

  • This includes but is not limited to copyright protected bittorrent files. We do realize that bittorrent sites are not technically illegal, but we are disallowing them anyways.

  • Do not link to pornography in #tulpa. There are more appropriate channels for this.

  • If the chat is getting out of hand and there is not anyone watching it, please alert a mod or admin by either pinging them or sending a message to #help.

    • Moderators or network staff will decide whether you broke the rules or not. If you disagree with a certain mod's decision, feel free to PM them or another and they /should/ try to solve your situation maturely.
  • It is your responsibility to know the rules. Not knowing the rules is no excuse for breaking them.

    • You are expected to have read the network rules. To re-read them, type in /motd and look in the server buffer. The rules should show up there.

This channel is independent from the http://tulpa.info forums and welcomes members from all communities and backgrounds.
