I don't understand this change. The icon is named minetest-icon.svg, so the original icon entry in the desktop file was correct.

I don't understand too. My MT icon is broken since the lastest 3 dev-releases... (Linux - LXDE)

Confirmed to break in XFCE also.

Under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS it's also broken...

minetest-icon.svg had to be renamed to minetest.svg in addition to changing minetest.desktop. That's why this commit broke Minetest's icon. I did some improvements on @sapier's commit and issued a pull request #3134 . The new changes make Minetest's desktop and icon files follow freedesktop icon naming specification, the standard for Linux desktop. This in turn adds icon theme compatibility to Minetest's desktop entry! :-)
